History

Niseko Town offers beautiful scenery in each of the four seasons.
Here is a brief history of Niseko Annupuri, the town’s symbol.

The Niseko Kogen Hirafu Ski Area opened in 1961 in the Niseko area. The development of ski resorts in Niseko Town started with the Moiwa Ski Area in 1966, followed by the opening of the Niseko Annupuri International Ski Area in 1972 by Hokkaido Chuo Bus Co., Ltd. and the opening of the Higashiyama Ski Area in 1982, thus creating the current ski kingdom.
The Niseko Annupuri International Ski Area has six lifts, including gondola and quad lifts, and 13 courses.
